On this trip we will explore some of the loveliest mountains and villages that crown bella Italia. The Dolomiti are deserving of their legendary descriptions: lacy spires of pink tinted rock, unique to this area. From the lacy eastern formations to the majestic western range, from fragrant cappuccino in the morning to deep red wine with renowned alpine cuisine at dinner— it is one of our favorite mountain areas to hike. Late July departures offer an extension for the memorable experience of “a night at the Opera” at the amphitheater in Verona.

Tour Overview

Day 1-2

Pick up at the Venice Airport and transfer to chic little Cortina. On our way we stop for a lovely introductory hike that will lead us to our lunch place perched on an alpine lake. After lunch we continue our hike into Cortina. Dinner in a lovely Michelin starred restaurant.

Day 3-5

A stunning drive takes us to the Falzarego Pass where our trail heads…upwards! Our destination is Rifugio Lagazuoi. This family run rifugio, perched on the top of the world, will be our lunch place for the day.
We descend after lunch into the town of San Cassiano, our home for the next three nights. Here we will have time to enjoy lovely hikes and exquisite food.

Day 6-8

We leave San Cassiano and head towards the magical Val Gardena. On our way we stop at the Gardena Pass for a spectacular hike through lunar landscapes. We continue over the Cir Pass and down into the lush Vallunga. We will spend our next three nights in the quaint town of Ortisei which will allow us to experience some breathtaking hikes in the surrounding area.

Day 9-10

We will spend our last two days in the fairy tale town of Bressanone, (also known as Brixin) set on the confluence of two rivers and framed by forested mountains. Here we will enjoy some cultural moments learning about the town and the Trentino region. Our last hike will take us into the magnificent Funes Valley. Farewell dinner in one of our favorite Michelin starred restaurant in town!
