Julian Alps Hut to Hut
The Julian Alps or Julijske Alpe, are a range of the Southern Limestone Alps that stretch from northeastern Italy to Slovenia. The highest peak is Mount Triglav, which rises to 9,400 ft.! The Alps are named after our old friend Julius Caesar, who had a settlement, Cividale del Friuli, at the foot of the mountains. Together with our local guide we will explore forests, climb peaks, traipse in Alpine meadows, gaze on perfect lakes, be fueled by hearty local fare and wines, and be charmed by the natural beauty of the Slovenian landscape.
