As another wonderful season comes to a close, we find ourselves reflecting on our travels with full hearts and gratitude.

What started in March with familiar landscapes unfolded into one of our most varied and rewarding travel years yet. From quiet coastal paths to high-alpine ridge lines, from culinary havens to sacred cultural sites, 2025 offered a beautiful sweep of experiences – and so many memories shared along the way.

We began the season in the gentle hills of Tuscany, easing into spring with golden light, winding country lanes, and the kind of meals that remind us why returning to this region always feels like coming home. April took us west to Portugal, where oceanside cliffs, terraced vineyards, and vibrant villages shaped a journey filled with color and warmth.

June opened with the emerald beauty of Slovenia, a destination that continues to shine with its crystal lakes, dramatic mountains, and charming blend of Alpine and Mediterranean influences. From there we moved into a spectacular stretch in northern Italy: first the refined calm of the elegant Lakes District, then our opening week of the season in the Dolomiti, where summer had just begun to paint the peaks in long, glowing evenings.

July and August brought us deeper into the high mountains with two more Dolomiti departures – weeks of airy ridge lines, wildflower meadows, and those unmistakable pale-rock cathedrals that make this region a world unto itself. Each group brought its own spirit, curiosity, and camaraderie, reminding us again how special it is to share these landscapes together.

As the first hints of autumn arrived, we found ourselves in Val d’Aosta, surrounded by towering summits and quiet Alpine villages. September also welcomed back one of our long-loved traditions: fly fishing in Val di Fiemme. With its pristine rivers, forested valleys, and meditative pace, this experience remains a cherished annual retreat for returning guests and newcomers alike. We continued the season with another golden-hued week in the Dolomiti, a perfect moment between summer’s warmth and autumn’s crisp brilliance.

Later in September, our path turned toward contemplation and culture as we explored the sacred churches and hidden sanctuaries of St. Peter in Marche and Umbria—a journey deep into art, devotion, and centuries of spiritual heritage.

At the beginning of October, we returned once more to the Dolomiti for a final journey of the season, moving through Cortina, San Cassiano, Ortisei, and Brixen. With exquisite hotels, memorable dining experiences, and the beauty of the mountains in early autumn, it was a perfect closing chapter – made all the more special by the wonderful company shared throughout the trip.

October carried us south to the wonderful, sun-soaked landscapes of Puglia, where olive groves, whitewashed towns, and coastal breezes made for a vibrant finale.

We closed the season across the Adriatic in Croatia, where coastal beauty and layered history provided a fitting finale. In Rovinj, colorful houses and winding lanes created one of the most evocative old towns on the coast. On Cres Island, quiet villages and open landscapes offered a slower, more elemental rhythm. Pag Island surprised with its stark, dramatic scenery, while Trogir brought us full circle with its beautifully preserved medieval streets and relaxed seaside atmosphere, rounding out the year with warmth and reflection.
We covered extensive geography with exquisite people who shared trails, conversations, laughter, moments of thought and introspection and a lot of fun! These are the aspects that truly give life to our journeys.
